The Governors are seeking to appoint a well qualified, highly motivated person to lead an outstanding Learning Support department in our thriving Catholic school community in the heart of the beautiful Ribble Valley. Our Learning Support department consists of a team of highly dedicated staff, committed to meeting pupils' individual needs. The department comprises specialist teachers, teaching assistants and apprentices, providing an inclusive, caring and personalised approach to learning support.

St Augustine’s is a mixed, 11-16, oversubscribed comprehensive school with 1050 pupils on roll. We have a strong academic profile and in 2013 we were judged by OFSTED to be “Outstanding” in all areas of school life. Our Section 48 report from 2014 describes us as an “outstanding Catholic school.”

We have a strong academic profile and were judged outstanding in all categories in our 2013 Ofsted inspection and 2014 Diocesan inspection. Our 2018 Progress 8 figure of +0.77 placed us as the top performing mixed school in Lancashire. The 2000, 2006, 2009 and 2013 OFSTED reports all described our pupils’ behaviour as “outstanding.”

This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced and enthusiastic staff in a re-structured Senior Leadership team with three vacancies at Assistant Headteacher level. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record as a middle leader with outstanding people management skills and the ability to work well under pressure. We are looking for someone with innovative ideas and excellent organisational skills who can help us to fulfil our school mission.
