We agree with the foodbank when they say they don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry, which is why Yr7 are supporting this charity. The Ribble valley Foodbank provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Pendleside exists to promote and enhance quality of life for people with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers; by delivering specialist and holistic palliative care, which addresses their individually assessed physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. YEAR 9

Young Lives vs Cancer supports people from diagnosis onwards and aims to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement. YEAR 10

Cancer Research UK Cancer research fund scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. Alzheimer's Society At Alzheimer’s Society they are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. YEAR 11

Nightsafe

Nightsafe are a local Charity set up in 1990 by a group of local people, with the aim of alleviating the plight of homeless and vulnerably housed young people within the borough of Blackburn with Darwen and surrounding areas. This is a charity that Year 11 pupils at St Augustine's have supported for many years. https://nightsafe.org/

Team Rise

Team Rise are a Registered Charity based in Burnley but support people from all areas of East Lancashire. They give learning disabled and vulnerable individuals the opportunity to develop, socialise and explore their ideas and goals through a wide variety of educational, social and practical activities. https://teamrise.org.uk/

National Autistic Society

The National Autistic Society is available to help the 700,000 autistic people in the UK and their families.
