Y6 Transition 2023/24

Y6 TransitionTransition 2023 - 2024

Welcome to our transition area where you will find lots of useful information before you start your St Augustine’s journey in Year 7.

We hope to welcome all our new Year 7 pupils in person through our intake days at the end of this academic year.  This will be an opportunity to spend time with Mr Simcoe, your Year Leader, have a tour of the buildings and ask questions about life at St Augustine’s.

Please return regularly to check for any changes.

Your St Augustine's Journey Starts Here.

Dear future pupil!

Congratulations on being offered a place at St. Augustine’s.

I know that this is a busy time for Year 6 pupils and I am sure that you are working very hard at primary school. Moving to high school is always an exciting time and sometimes it can be a bit worrying too. Over the next few months, we will do our best to make your move to St. Augustine’s as easy as possible.

In June we have our New Intake Days where you will have a chance to experience some activities at St. Augustine’s, meet some new friends and start to get to know your way around school. You will also have a chance to try the canteen and see some of our other facilities.

We have a New Intake Evening on 29th June at 18:00 when you will meet your new Form Teacher while your parents receive important information about the school.

St. Augustine’s is a very busy place with lots of lunchtime activities and after-school clubs: music, sport, dance, drama, pupil council and many others. I would encourage you to get involved in at least one of these activities when you start in September so that you get the most out of your time at school. You can get some idea of what goes on by looking through our website and looking at our newsletters.

We are also already in contact with your school about how you are doing in your lessons, what your strengths are and any areas where you need help. We are confident that your Year 6 teacher can give us all the information that we need for you to make an excellent start at St Augustine’s.

We will keep you and your family informed as move towards welcoming you to Year 7 in September.

Dear pupils,

Welcome to St Augustine’s! I am very excited to be your Year Leader for your time with us. I hope that you are looking forward to the Intake Days we have planned for you before finally starting as Year 7 pupils in September.

Our school is a very special place. During your life at St Augustine’s you will learn, play, laugh, pray and celebrate our successes together. I am sure that you will enjoy being a pupil at St Augustine’s and make the most of the opportunities you will have to develop your skills and talents.

I look forward to meeting you all very soon at our intake events.
