Transition 2021 - 22

Welcome to our transition area where you will find lots of useful information before you start your St Augustine’s journey in Year 7.

We hope to welcome all our new Year 7 pupils in person through our intake days at the end of this academic year.  This will be an opportunity to spend time with Mr Haworth, your Year Leader, have a tour of the buildings and ask questions about life at St Augustine’s.

We are also very excited about our Summer School which will give you even more opportunity to meet your new classmates and school staff in a week of activities from 23rd-27th August.

With COVID-19 guidance changing regularly, you will find updates to our transition programme posted here.  Please return regularly to check for any changes.

Your St Augustine's Journey Starts Here.MWRIGHT

Dear future pupil!

Congratulations on being offered a place at St. Augustine’s.

Moving to high school is always an exciting time and sometimes it can be a bit worrying too. This year, because of COVID restrictions, we are having to change the way that we welcome you to our school.  Over the coming weeks, we will do our best to make your move to St. Augustine’s as easy as possible.

We hope to be able to invite you into school where you will experience some lessons at St. Augustine’s and start to get to know your way around the building. We are also making a “Virtual Intake Day” for our website in case you are not able to attend in person for any reason. This will include video clips to introduce you to the school, explanations of how the school day works and, hopefully, some videos by our current Year 7 pupils on how they found the move from primary school to high school. This area of the website features all the information you may need about joining St Augustine's.

We are also already in contact with your school about how you are doing in your lessons, what your strengths are and any areas where you need help. While there will be no Key Stage 2 test results this year, we are confident that your Year 6 teacher can give us all the information that we need for you to make an excellent start at St Augustine’s.

We will keep you and your family informed as move towards welcoming you to Year 7 in September.

Mr M Wright
